چکیده
This study aimed to investigate the effects of music on physiological outcomes for post-operative TKA patients in recovery unit. Fifty-six from Hospital Melaka were randomized equally into intervention (IG) and control groups (CG). IG received usual care listened selected 60 min, while CG only care. Systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic (DBP), heart rate (HR), respiration (RR) oxygen saturation (SpO2) measured arrival after 10, 20, 30, min A significant difference between was observed RR upon (U = 276.5, p 0.029) 10 291, 0.45). Meanwhile, there differences DBP (F 3.158, 0.032), (?2 15.956, 0.003) SpO2 14.084, 0.007) over time IG. Overall, listening immediately has an effect DBP, RR, SpO2.

Pre versus Post-Operative Initiation of Warfarin Therapy in Patients undergoing Total Hip and Knee Arthroplasty
Background: The optimal strategy for postoperative Deep Venous Thrombosis (DVT) prophylaxis remains among the most controversial topics in hip and knee arthroplasty. Warfarin, the most commonly used chemical anticoagulant, initially causes transient hypercoagulability; however the optimal timing of treatment with respect to surgery remains unclear. Our purpose was to evaluate the effects of pre...
متن کاملPost-Operative Hypertension after Total Knee Arthroplasty and the Effects on Transfusion Rates
Transfusions are a cause of significant patient morbidity as well as expense. Anesthesia literature has examined controlled intraoperative hypotension as a means for reducing blood loss and transfusions. Our hypothesis is that inversely increased blood pressure post-operatively would then lead to increased blood loss and transfusions. We examined 105 consecutive patients who underwent TKA. We fo...

[Purpose] The aim of the present study was to compare the effect of pre-operative and post-operative physical therapy versus post-operative physical therapy alone on pain and recovery of function after total knee arthroplasty. [Subjects and Methods] Fifty patients (18 males and 32 females) ranging in age from 48 to 80 years (mean 63.28, SD 9.44) participated in a 6-week two-arm randomized rater...
متن کاملPost-operative therapy for metacarpophalangeal arthroplasty.
BACKGROUND Metacarpophalangeal (MCP) arthroplasty with implants, which is the replacement of painful knuckle joints with artificial knuckle joints, has been performed for people with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) since the 1960s. The surgery is done because RA can cause damage of the knuckle joints making them unable to straighten out (flexion deformity) and causing them to lean over toward the sma...
متن کاملA Biomechanical Therapy Program for Patients after Total Knee Arthroplasty
Researchers have found that poor postoperative outcomes in pain and function are associated with poor loading patterns on the knee joint, specifically high knee adduction moment, high knee flexion moment and low knee extension moment. These pathological loading patterns are usually present in these patients prior to surgery and are retained after surgery. With time these loading patterns will l...
